First Aid Super Tip #4

Removing bandages from little one’s knees is never a pleasant experience. Take the ‘ouch out’ by implementing one simple trick.

First Aid Super Tip #4: Rub baby oil overtop of the bandage first, wait a few minutes and remove. The baby oil seeps into the adhesive strip and allows the bandage to slide off.

How to Deal With Fainting

Fainting is defined as “a loss of consciousness due to a sudden, but temporary, reduction in the flow of blood to the brain”. It can be scary when it happens, but the first aid treatment is simple.

Check out November’s Quick Reference Guide all about fainting.

Dangerous Symbols

Check out this handy cheat sheet for understanding dangerous symbols around your home. It is very important to keep dangerous substances locked up and out of reach of little hands (and switch to safer alternatives where possible). You can never be too careful when it comes to chemicals and poisons in your home.

November is CPR Month!

Happy November!

Although there are no long weekends in Canadian Novembers, there is one overarching theme this month that’s got ON-SITE First Aid very excited… November is CPR month!

Take the 2 hours you need to learn how to do CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) & use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and feel confident knowing that you have the skills to save the life of a loved one.

Those 2 hours are equivalent to:

Watching 4 episodes of The Office

Taking part in 2 yoga classes

Half of the time it takes to watch Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

0.28% of the total number of hours in November

When you think about it like that, this simple 2-hour investment is like a drop in the bucket compared to the immense value received. Carve out just 2 hours to learn CPR & AED and safe a life.
